Video Analysis

Avid Timeline Containing up to 24 video and audio tracks, the Avid Timeline gives you unparalleled flexibility when examining forensic video.

De-Interfacing framebased video to avoid blurry prints and allowing up to 60 images per second to be analylized.

De-Multiplexing multiple camera views at once then select which demultiplexed(isolated or separated) camera views you would like to observe. These views can be saved as individual video clips and/or as "matrix" video clips -a single video clip with up to sixteen individual camera views playing simultaneously.

Time-Lapse Footage os converted into real time.

Comparitive Analysis Reverse Projection and reliable eight analysis are made easy with the Avid superimpose feature along with picture in picture.

Capture or Acquisition

Video Acquisition Digitize full-screen (720 x 486) uncompressed NTSC video from any composite, components, S-Video, DV or MPEG 50 video source.

Uncompressed Video 1:1 video option (industry standard ITU-R 601) - digitize footage with no quality degradation.

NTSC Standard Video Digitize video at the industry standard 720 x 486 pixel matrix (349,920 pixels), ensuring analysis of every pixel.

Capturing Digital Surveillance DVR decoding software will digitize the original footage and then duplicate the file in an uncompressed digital format for analysis and processing.

Processing Video

Frame Averaging removes video noise, gaininess and hidden details.

Highlighting/Masking the analyst can highlight an area of video to bring it ti attention or obscure an area to hide sensitive information.

Resizing Video Enlarge (zoom of magnify) footage. Video may also be reduced in size to expose the cropped are, about 10%, that are commonly hidden from view by a typical televisions underscan.

Image Stabilization stabilize unstable or shacky video.

Color Correction tools are used to analyze and corredc poor lighting and copensate for camera dome filters to recover the accurate colors of the scene.

Clarify dark and poor quality security and surveillance footage.

Picture-in-Picture display one moving image within another offering a dynamic, side-by-side comparisons, demonstration consistencies between know images and suspect images.

Titling or labeling is used to identify and explain video evidence.

Timecode AVX allows the Forensic Video Analyst to timestamp security video images to within 1/60th of a second.

Locators quickly and easily annotate video evidence.

MetaSunc The Avid Systems provide twenty-four tracks for synchronized metadate, linking any digital investicative asset directly to the video evidence. Assets include word processing documents, spreadsheets, e-mail , digital photos or virtually any digital file can be accessed on a computer.

Script-Based Editing A transcript of a suspect or witness interview or of an undercover operation can be aligned to the audio and video. A simple word search can locate a specific word, phrase, or sentence and then cue and play the video from that point.

Processing Audo

AudioSuite tools to tackle advanced forensic audio applications like
dynamic noise reduction and hiss removal.

QuickEnhance AS reduces interfering noise problems and extracting
intelligible speech signals from audio captured on audio and video
surveillance tapes.

Evidence Disclosure

Exporting to over two dozen industry-standard file formats, create an
entire sequence of uncompressed still images containing every image of
a suspect caught on tape or encodes to all major digital video formats
including AVI, QuickTime, WMV and MPEG.

Video Output to multiple tape formats such as VHS, SVHS, 8 mm, Hi 8,
DVC Pro or burn to CD's or DVD's

Still Prints on photo paper or digital files from any video image.

Audio evidence can be output to industry-standard WAV or AIFF

Notes: Video Editing is used only to enhance or make clear the evidence and not to conceal or alter the meaning or intent of the material. This is done for the courts gratification. Non-pertinent materials may be deleted for clarity. Original Source material is never altered. A written report is usually supplied, on a confidential basis, to the client delineating the alterations performed & findings. The report also may establish an evidentiary pathway from the original footage to the newly generated video.
